Monee Reservoir Bird Walk

Event Type: Bird Walk
Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026
Time: 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Location: Monee Reservoir
Address: On Ridgeland Avenue, south of Pauling Road. Map

We’ll check the lake and wetlands for ducks and in-coming herons, swallows, and sandpipers. Along the wooded area, we’ll look for in-coming summer nesters and migrants, including warblers, vireos, phoebes, towhees, woodpeckers, and more. Last year we were delighted to find 42 species on our April 13 walk > Checklist.

Meet in the parking lot in front of the Visitor Center. The trails are a mix of paved and natural surfaces (sidewalks, paved trail, dirt and mowed turf trails). There are latrine-style restrooms next to the parking area. The Visitor Center should be open and offers coffee and snacks.

.Leader: Bob Bryerton
