This Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve meeting complements the 2026 Native Plant Sale, which is co-sponsored by Thorn Creek Audubon and Izaak Walton Preserve. Get expert tips and personalized advice for growing a successful native plant garden in your yard.

Tristan Shaw, co-owner of the native plant nursery Possibility Place, will give a brief overview of native gardens and native plants and introduce some new native plants available this year. Tristan will then field questions about native plant gardening.

You’re invited to bring photos of your plant areas so Tristan can assess how much sunlight each area receives and offer expert advice on choosing the most appropriate plants.

Free milkweed seed packets will be available to all attendees.
