Event Type: Bird Walk
Date: Saturday, September 27, 2025
Time: 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Location: Monee Reservoir
Address: On Ridgeland Avenue, south of Pauling Road. Map
The lake, fields, wooded areas, and wetlands of 248-acre Monee Reservoir provide habitat for a wide variety birds and a critical spot to stop on migration to rest and refuel. We will take advantage of this and hike through several habitat areas of the preserve searching for fall migrants, lingering summer nesters, and year-round residents.
Meet in the parking lot in front of the Visitor Center. The trails are a mix of paved and natural surfaces (sidewalks, paved trail, dirt and mowed turf trails). There are latrine-style restrooms next to the parking area. The Visitor Center should be open and offers coffee and snacks.
.Leader: Bob Bryerton
