ABOUT US

Thorn Creek Audubon Society, organized in 1973, is a chapter of National Audubon Society, an affiliate of Illinois Audubon Society, and a 501(c)(3) organization. Locally, TCAS collaborates with Thorn Creek Nature Center, Forest Preserve District of Will County, Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve, and others. We also participate in the annual Audubon Christmas and Spring Bird Counts. We welcome everyone to join us and participate in our field trips and educational programs.

Our mission is to promote the enjoyment and appreciation of birds, to educate adults and children concerning our natural environment, to preserve, protect and restore wildlife habitat, and create awareness of local conservation issues.
